International man of mystery

hipldn

Whenever there’s a clip of Swinging London in the 1960’s, along with the standard shots of flower children dancing round Hyde Park there’s always a clip of a bloke on Carnaby Street trying on a Hussars jacket like he’s an extra in ‘Charge of the light brigade’. I realise that somewhere there’s a man in his late sixties who leaps up at the telly shouting ‘ That’s me!’ whenever the clip is shown, but who is he? Look around your front room, that kindly old Grandfather could once have been one of London’s ‘Faces’ back in the day. We need to know!

He crops up around the three minute mark

And then there's his often seen mate browsing Guardsmen's tunics at around ten seconds in

The forgotten foot soldiers of the swinging sixties.
