It's been all over the news this week that Catherine Zeta Jones has had treatment for bi polar disorder. She didn't choose to reveal this fact herself, that was down to grubby tabloid The National Enquirer splashing the news all over its pages after apparently being tipped off by one of the actresses fellow patients. Now whether she likes it or not, Zeta Jones has become a poster girl for mental health issues. Anything that helps to remove the stigma attached to mental health problems is ,on the whole, a good thing, but I also wonder if anybody has actually asked her if this is what she wants? Because she's a celebrity does that mean that she's not entitled to deal with her health issues privately? Does everything have to be in the spotlight? I realise that charities have a job to do but it seems that some of them react with unseemly haste to use any celebrity with issues to highlight their chosen cause.
